About Morse-Code.co.uk

A fast, focused Morse code toolkit, built and maintained by a small team.

Who we are

Morse-Code.co.uk is operated by Space Bits, S.L., a web development company based in Manresa, Spain. We build focused, fast web tools rather than large platforms, and Morse-Code.co.uk is one of them.

Why we built Morse-Code.co.uk

Morse code is still used and taught today in amateur radio, aviation, scouting, and emergency signalling, and people regularly need a fast, accurate way to translate, listen to, or look up Morse code. We wanted to build something simple and genuinely useful: tools that work well, rather than a page built mainly to rank in search results.

How the tools work

The translator maps each letter, number, and common punctuation mark to its standard International Morse Code representation, and back again. Text-to-Morse and Morse-to-text conversion happen instantly in your browser as you type.

Morse audio is generated in your browser using the Web Audio API. Each dot and dash is played as a short tone at the speed (WPM), pitch, and volume you choose, following the standard Morse timing ratios: a dash lasts three times as long as a dot, with proportional gaps between letters and words.

We are also working on tools to decode Morse code from an uploaded audio file or a microphone recording. These are not available yet. When they launch, this page will be updated to explain exactly how they work and what their limitations are.

Accuracy and methodology

All character mappings on this site follow the International Morse Code standard. The alphabet, number, and punctuation mappings are checked against standard references before publication. If you notice an error, please contact us using the details below and we will investigate and correct it.
